School
Mount Zion Christian Academy (MZCA) is a ministry of Mount Zion Christian Church, Inc., founded in 1986. Mount Zion Christian Academy is a college preparatory, non- denominational, co-educational day (K-12) and boarding school (9-12) serving students in grades kindergarten through twelve. MZCA also offers a one-year Post-Graduate Studies Program. MZCA is a comprehensive school committed to a disciplined, academic, and creative Christian environment.
Mount Zion Christian Academy is accredited by the International Christian Accrediting Association (ICAA) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).
Marking Periods
MZCA schedules a four (4) grading period calendar year (180 days). The school year consists of two (2) semesters. Each year-long academic course is awarded one (1) unit of credit at the successful completion of four (4) quarters; each semester course one-half (1/2) unit at the successful completion of two (2) consecutive quarters.

Advanced Course Listing
Mount Zion Christian Academy offers Honors courses in English, Science, Math and Foreign Language. Students enrolled at MZCA may also participate in dual enrollment through Durham Technical Community College or any local community college.

To be eligible for graduation from Mount Zion Christian Academy a student must have completed a minimum of 22 units in grades 9-12.
**Students must maintain an overall four-year average of 3.0 or better to have honors course of study denoted on diploma.
**It is required that prospective students take a mathematics course, a science course, and a foreign language course in twelfth grade.
